Influencer marketing is everywhere these days, but you won’t be able to make the most of it unless you’re equipped with the proper strategies and tools. Here, we’ve rounded up 5 influencer marketing trends to watch.

Engagement
As the world of online influencers continues to become more saturated, marketers looking for influencer partnerships will begin to look not only at follower count, but also at engagement. Think how an influencer interacts with their followers, who an influencer’s followers are and each posts total reach.

On-ground Marketing
In addition to digital campaigns, expect more event marketing with influencers and brands. A brand might host an Instagram-worthy event in partnership with an influencer to engage with its audience and encourage guests to share photos of the event (thereby promoting the brand) on their personal social channels.

FTC Regulations
Transparency is key in influencer marketing, particularly since the FTC requested that influencers and brands clearly disclose their sponsorship on social media. You want your followers trust; be sure to mention any sponsored partnerships clearly and towards the beginning of your post.

Video
Marketing isn’t just about Instagram anymore, especially with the more eyes on video than ever before. Take advantage of Instagram Stories (users with more than 10,000 followers have the coveted ability to add links to stories), IGTV, YouTube and Snapchat.

Measure ROI
Are your influencer marketing campaigns generating results? First, make sure you know your goals. Then be diligent about tracking your progress. There are plenty of ways to track ROI, such as tracked links, page view counts, social media analytics and website referrals.
